Packaging therapeutic RNAs for targeted treatment of breast cancer

Judy Lieberman, PhD, in the Program in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital and the Immune Disease Institute (PCMM/IDI) and colleagues have developed a molecular delivery platform that overcomes one of the biggest obstacles to using RNA-based gene silencing technologies to treat cancer: making sure the treatment gets to the right place and stays there. [Read more]

 

Curbing stroke’s inflammatory damage

David Clapham, MD, PhD, chief of the Basic Cardiovascular Research Laboratories at Boston Children’s Hospital, thinks that interfering with a gate-like protein called Hv1 could curb the inflammatory aftermath of a stroke, something that existing drugs cannot do. [Read more]
