Our annual Season of Hope events are in full swing. Hopefully, you submitted your favorite recipe to the “Healthful Eating” recipe challenge. Judging the recipe challenge with the Food Services staff are Jennifer Cheng MD, physician in Children’s Hospital Primary Care Center, Sarah de Ferranti, MD MPH, director of the Preventive Cardiology Clinic, Suzanne Rostler, MS, RD, LDN, clinical nutrition specialist II in the Optimal Weight for Life program, and Laura Sprauer RD, CDE, IBCLC, community nutritionist and lactation consultant at Martha Eliot Health Center.
Winners will be chosen early this month. The five winning recipes will be served Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 in the Café at Children’s, and the winners will be able to create their recipe with the Food Services team. The guest chef with the most popular recipe will be honored as Chef of the Year.
Be sure to mark your calendar for the Season of Hope event on Dec. 7 at 3:30 p.m. The Children’s Hospital Choir will perform seasonal songs in the Patient Entertainment Center and the performance will be broadcast on Channel 22 for patients. The Children’s choir consists of physicians, nurses and other health care staff who come together to perform for coworkers, patients and families. After, the celebration moves to the lobby, where Children’s patient Avery Toole will light the tree.
